- PTFE is a biocompatible plastic and extremely hypoallergenic. PTFE (also known as ETFE, Bioplast / Bioflex) is elastic and ideally suited for initial and long-term use. Due to the smooth surface, foreign substances can only adhere very poorly, which prevents complications during healing. PTFE piercings can also be used for ultrasound, CTG and X-ray examinations. The PTFE material enables even shorter healing times for initial piercings.
